Celestine “Sally” Therese Rugowski, 100, of Centralia, formerly of Manitowoc, Wisconsin passed away February 18, 2017.

She was the loving mother to daughter, Joan Marie and Dr. Jerry Beguelin of Centralia, Il, sons, Dr. James Rugowski and wife Chris of Hayward, Wisconson, David Rugowski and wife Jane of Mt. Vernon, Il; dearly loved grandmother to eleven grandchildren, further survived by sister-in-laws, Helen Budnik and Mary Rugowski both of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and devoted aunt to various nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony Rugowski; parents, John and Mary Budnik; the late brothers Arthur and Alvin Budnik.

Celestine was born the daughter of John and Mary (Rysticken) Budnik on April 13, 1916 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. As a lifelong resident, Celestine attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1934. She married Anthony S. Rugowski on November 9, 1940 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1992.

Mrs. Rugowski was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and past officer, as well as serving on other various committees. She belonged to the Resurrection Choir and the Manitowoc Senior Citizen Club. In previous years, she was active in the PTA, the Rice and Tea Group, and served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours for Celestine from 10:30 a.m. –11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Marshall in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church Saturday with Father Dave Pleier officiating Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manitowoc. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi, American Cancer Society or Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Arrangements are under the care of Pfeffer Funeral Home in Manitowoc. Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is assisting family locally with services.
