Elden Dale Wooters, age 90 passed away at his home in Odin on May 11th, 2017.
There is surely a love story unfolding in Heaven tonight as Dale joins Greta, the love of his life, at Heaven’s gate. A true American Hero, a loving family man, a diligent worker and a man of strong faith and virtue. He wore many hats, and accomplished great things in his tenure on this Earth.
Elden served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Wooters was a member of the Odin Masonic Lodge, VFW Post #2055, and Brookside Tabernacle Church. He worked as a baker at Aurora Bakery, as well as Rainbow Bread/ Colonial Bread. He was a talented musician who played several instruments, He enjoyed taking care of his yard, and hunting mushrooms. He enjoyed spending anytime he could outside either alone or with his many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and don't forget his cats and dogs.
A celebration of life services for Elden Dale Wooters will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday 15, 2017 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin, Illinois. Pastor Johnnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Deadmond Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions in Eldon’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. On-line condolences and memories of Eldon may be shared with the family
Elden is survived by his loving children: Jackie Capps (Raymond), Dalane Terrell, Joyce Daniel, Elvina Wiley (Stan), Stuart Wooters (Debbie), Karen Sharon (Robert), Diana Lacey, Brian Wooters. As well as Twenty-Two grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Elden is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Kate Wooters; wife, Greta; brother Junior Wooters; daughters Roseanne Casillas; Loretta Chwarczinski; two great grandsons: Francisco Rojas; Daniel Wooters Jr, and one great granddaughter Angel Wooters.
