George Lutz, 69, of Centralia, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Centralia, Illinois. George was born February 10, 1948, the son of Carl and Josphine (Parker) Lutz in Centralia, Illinois. He married Sue Lutz on September 4, 2010 in Gatlinburg, TN, and she survives him in Centralia.

George is survived by his proud father, Carl Lutz and wife Jewel of Hoffman; loving wife, Sue Lutz of Centralia; devoted sons, Greg Lutz and wife Missy, of Salem, Jeff Lutz of Taylorville, Michael Lutz and wife Elizabeth of Centralia; cherished stepson, Raymond Meyers and fiancée Tami of Centralia; 8 precious grandchildren, Jenna, Megan, Jonathan, Lexi, Cameron, Brittney, Maci, and Macin; beloved sister Julian; and will be missed by many friends.

George is preceded in death by his first wife, Debbie Lutz; mother, Josphine Lutz; sister, Kathy Carter; and grandson Gavin Lutz.

George served our country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He went on to work for 20 years and retire from Nascoat Industries as a material specialist. He enjoyed gardening and never let anyone mow his grass. He loved to fish and was a great mechanic. His passion was cars and car racing he always rooted for his #48!

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 11:00a.m. on July 7, 2017 with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service that will be held by the family on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at George’s family home.
