Marjorie “Margo” E. Chambers, 99, of Centralia, IL passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Friendship Manor of Nashville. Margo was born April 26, 1918, the daughter of Charles Alfred and Grace Amanda (Creed) Garritson in Huntington, West Virginia.


Ms Chambers is survived by her loving son-in-law Ken Oltman of Nashville; caring brother, Charles A. Garritson and wife Elizabeth of CA; many nieces and nephews.

Ms Chambers is preceded in death by both her parents; sister, Ruby Piper; brother-in-law, Edwin Piper; daughter, Monya Oltman.

Ms Chambers was a co-owner of the Tot & Teen Shop where she enjoyed interacting with the young people and their parents who visited the shop. Margo was extremely involved in the choir for the First Christian Church of Centralia Disciples of Christ for 58 years. During this time she was so grateful to share her gift of singing. Ms Chambers was also a member of AARP.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Centralia with Pastor Tommy Henegar officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the church from 1:00 p.m. till time of service Wednesday.
