Don Courtes Peddicord, 90, of Irving, IL passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at St. Frances Hospital in Litchfield, IL. He was born the son of George and Hazel Pearl (Walker) Peddicord on December 4, 1926 in Fayette County. He married Sharon St. Pierre in May of 1971 in South Dakota.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Peddicord of Irving, IL; his devoted children, Lynette Boland of Peoria, IL, Terri Gonzales and husband Mike of Peoria, IL; caring stepson, Marc Dodson of Springfield, MO; 8 precious grandchildren; 7 cherished great-grandchildren; appreciated sisters, June Thalman and husband Cecil of Patoka, IL, and Jean Obermark of Highland, IL.

Don was preceded in death by both of his parents; a son, Larry Peddicord; his sisters, LaVonne Eymann, Anna Mae Cripe; brother, Cecil Peddicord.

Mr. Peddicord served his country with honor in the Navy during WWII. Don was a lifetime member of VFW 3862 in Vandalia, IL and Hillsboro Masonic Lodge. He truly enjoyed time spent by the water pursuing the next big catch. Don also found great enjoyment going to flea markets in search of treasures. He will be remembered as a loving family man and will be deeply missed.

Services for Don will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka, IL with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Patoka City Cemetery in Patoka, IL. Military Rites will be accorded at the graveside by Patoka American Legion Post 543. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 5:00 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 and one hour prior to services on Thursday at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka, IL . Masonic services will be held Wednesday at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contribution may be made to Patoka City Cemetery and Litchfield St. Frances Family Memorial.
