Maxine Simpson, 81, of Irvington, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at White Oaks Health Care in Mt. Vernon, IL. Maxine was born March 4, 1936, the daughter of Charles J. and Lillias Mae (Pinkerton) Fletcher in Palmyra, IL. She married Glen Simpson on October 24, 1954 at Marshall Creek Baptist Church.

Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Glen Simpson of Irvington; devoted children, Michael Simpson and wife Ruth of TN, Daniel Simpson and wife Lisa of FL; 9 precious grandchildren; 10 cherished great-grandchildren; appreciated siblings, Bill Fletcher of Centralia, Jim Fletcher and wife Cora of Salem, Roy Fletcher and wife Etta of Salem, Velma White and husband Ray of Decatur, Pauline Matheny and husband Frank of Decatur, Josephine Walters and husband Chuck of Decatur, Lorene Patterson of Centralia.

Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by both her parents; her sisters Thelma Futrell, Darlene Parks, Angeline Moulder; her daughter, Linda Melton.
Maxine was a faithful member of the Marshall Creek Baptist Church. She loved babysitting for families from her home. Maxine will be missed deeply by her family.

Celebration of life services for Maxine will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Pastor Seth Baltzell officiating. Burial will follow at Fredonia Cemetery in Odin. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. till time of service on Saturday.
