Stanley Allen Parson, 86, of Sandoval passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Odin Health Care in Odin. He was born the son of Isam and Merel (Allen) Parson on November 6, 1931 near Carlyle. He married Natalie Schiller on May 31, 1964 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Centralia.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Natalie Parson of Sandoval; his sons, Garrick Parson and wife Christy of Centralia, Chad Parson and his wife Kathy of Sandoval; grandchildren, Haley Parson, Lexi Parson, Jordan Parson, Kylie Parson, and Megan Parson; his brothers, Earl Parson of Carlyle and Warren Parson of Lindale, TX.

Stanley was preceded in death by both his parents; his daughter, Misty Parson; his sister, Lela Smith; his brother Carl Parson.

Stanley entered the military service in 1952, serving with the United States Army, stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He achieved the rank of sergeant before accepting an Honorable Discharge from service in 1960. Mr. Parson attended barber college while working nights and began his barber practice in Centralia, which he continued to do for over 40 years. He was a staple of downtown Centralia where he operated his barber shop on Broadway for many years before moving his shop to Central City. Stanley enjoyed woodworking, had a love of gardening and could always be found toiling in the garden or tending his flowers and fruit trees in the yard. Stanley especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and the American Legion Post 446.
