Jimmy Van Goforth, 66, of Centralia, passed away March 7, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born the son of James C. and Charlene (Ivy) Goforth on August 14, 1951 in Centralia.

He is survived by his devoted mother Charlene Goforth of Centralia; cherished sister Pam Goforth of Centralia; the love of his life of 19 years, Christy Straith of Centralia; treasured sons Tyler Bruce of Centralia and Christopher Straith of Centralia; two grandchildren Hailey and Parker Straith; three nieces Tonya Kinder of Centralia, Katrice Keenan of Long Island, NY, Gina Branon of Centralia; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father James Goforth, and great-nephew Justen Barrow.

Van retired in 2011 from the City of Centralia. He enjoyed spending time outside taking long rides on his motorcycle, harvesting vegetables from his garden, and hunting or fishing. He was a devoted member of the Corvette Club and A.B.A.T.E. in Centralia.

Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Celebration of life services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Paula Comper and Rev. Elaine Bush officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, St. Judes Hospital, or the Special Olympics.
