Visitation 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home in Centralia.

Lee Hart, 84, of Irvington passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019. He was born in Wamac, the son of Leon and Bruxie (Butler) Hart. He married Julie Hart in October of 1993 in the Philippines.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Julie Hart; cherished children, Bob Caswell and wife Tracy of Salem, Randy Caswell, Jeff Caswell, Charles Caswell, and Cheryl Edwards; several grandchildren; dear siblings, Ruth Ann Friend of Centralia, and Gary Hart of Mt. Vernon; caring sister-in-law, Nicolasa Theising and husband Robert of Irvington; favorite nephew, Angelo Theising; and many more special nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hart was preceded in death by both his parents, Leon and Bruxie Hart.

Mr. Hart served his country with honor in the United States Airforce during the Korean War, where he piloted Convair planes. After his proud service he continued to enjoy the art of flying, spending time at both Salem and Mt. Vernon airports, flying Cessna 150 and 172 planes. Mr. Hart was a hardworking individual retiring from both Illinois Central Railroad and Illinois Department of Corrections. Lee was a member of the American Legion Post 446 and the Patriot Guard Riders. He possessed a truly adventurous spirit, answering the call of the open road by riding his motorcycle. Lee’s zest for life was contagious and will live on in all the ones he knew and loved.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Anthony Sweeney officiating. Interment will follow at Friedens Cemetery in Irvington. Military Rites will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and the American Legion Post 446. A visitation time will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Lee’s honor to Shriners Hospital for Children.
