Maxine Goodin, 81, of Texas formerly of Patoka, IL, passed away July 4, 2019 at Long Meadow Nursing Home. She was born the daughter of Etta Hiens on December 25, 1937. She married John H. Goodin on December 9, 1954 in Sandoval. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1995.

Survivors include her devoted children John “Jeff” Goodin and wife Dawn of Haslet, Texas, Dianna Clift and husband Randy of Patoka, Tonya Runge and husband Laverne of Ramsey, Mary Kay Goldsmith and husband David of California; cherished grandchildren Amanda Goodin, Sarah Payne and husband Mark, Jessica Flores and husband Jimmy, Andrew Harvard and wife Brandie, Philip Goodin and wife Brandi, Mallory Goldsmith, Breanna Clift, Johnnie Clift, Emily Goodin, Jonathan Goodin, and Matthew Stofel; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her mother Etta; husband John; brother Gale Stubblefield, sisters, Mary Rice, Myrtle Godat, Dorothy Phillips.

Maxine attended the Patoka First Baptist Church for many years. She retired in 2000 from Little Fuse in Centralia after 21 faithful years of service. Maxine had a true talent for crafts and quilting, passing along many beautiful, cherished gifts of her handiwork. She will be remembered for her love of family as she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Day Macz Funeral home in Patoka with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Pratt Cemetery in rural Patoka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pratt Cemetery, American Heart Association, or Shriners Hospital.
