John Michael Gamblin, 49, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 26, 1970 in Winfield, IL. He was the son of Aubrey and Sherry (Ussrey) Gamblin.

Survivors that will remember John Michael’s warm smile include his devoted parents, Aubrey Gamblin of FL, and Sherry Gamblin of Centralia; caring siblings, Kevin Gamblin of Salem, and Heather Connerty (Sean) of Westmont, IL; loved nieces and nephew, Lily, Audrina, Emi, and Grady; kind aunts, and uncles, Lila and Jim Williams, Bill Ussrey, Judy and Charles Hubner, Pat and Perry Pursell, Mike and Jana Ussrey, and Lisa and Gary Kampwerth; special cousins, Michelle, and Christa; and many other adored cousins.

John Michael was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

John Michael was a proud graduate of Sandoval High School Class of 1990. He was a faithful member of The Rock Church in Centralia and he loved his church family. He worked diligently for Centralia’s Kaskaskia Workshop where he made many friends. John Michael was an avid collector of Star Wars, Batman, baseball cards, and comics. He truly enjoyed collecting and the treasures he found. John Michael had a dream from childhood to own his own collector’s/comic book shop. He loved being an uncle and spoiling his precious nieces, and nephew. John Michael’s family was very important to him and he treasured making memories with them.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is honored to be assisting the family of John Michael Gamblin with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held with the family at a date in the future. Memorials may be made in John Michael’s honor to Day Macz Funeral Home and will be accepted at the funeral home.
