National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA)* - Provides advocacy,
education, information, products, programs and services to help members enhance the quality of service to families.
Order of the Golden Rule* - This professional organization brings support, resources and services to you and our funeral homes.
Veterans Administration - Provides information on memorial benefits,
health services, life insurance programs and more.
Social Security Administration - Allows survivors to report the death of the loved. The site
also provides information on potential benefits that can be claimed by the survivors.
GriefNet.org - An Internet community of persons dealing with
grief, death, and major loss. We have almost 60 e-mail support groups and two web sites.
The Grief Watch - This web site was created to provide you with bereavement resources and
links that can help you through your personal loss. It also serves as an excellent educational tool for all who travel down the road of grief.
The AARP - Provides information on how to handle the death of a loved one. As
well as dealing with personal grief, they cover many other topics such as legal issues.
New Horizons Counseling Service - A local counseling office located in Salem, IL that offers counseling to help you through the grief process. Grief many times results in depression, anxiety, numbness, anger, confusion, tiredness, helplessness, feeling disconnected and a variety of other emotions. New Horizons offers counseling for individuals, couples, and families. Their compassionate licensed counselors are trained, experienced and equipped to assist you. Monthly Grief Counseling Meetings - Macz Funeral Homes hosts a monthly grief counseling support group meeting. Meetings occur the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois (234 S. Elm, Centralia, IL 62801). There is no cost involved. Meetings are facilitated by Brother Claude Howell. At this time, the support meetings are structured for adults. If you have any questions, please contact our Centralia office at 618-532-5511.
