Macz Funeral Homes Covid19 Plan
To our friends and families we serve,
As news of COVID-19 continues to impact our community and the world, our funeral home staff wants to assure you Macz Funeral Homes are committed and prepared to safely care for the families we are always so HONORED to SERVE.
These are unprecedented times and our staff is working to ensure that all families have both the BURIAL and CREMATION options available to them. We will be following what is endorsed by:
The Illinois Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) Board of Directors (which our very own Tom Macz serves)
IFDA recommends following the CDC guidelines on gatherings, and this includes those directly related to any funerals, visitation, or graveside services.
We will continue to work to ensure that all families are able to celebrate their loved one. As always upon request we will record and put services on our YouTube channel.
We encourage you to leave a memory for families on the obituary tribute wall or send the family a card or flowers.
We are BLESSED to be Supporting our Communities Now & Always,
Macz Funeral Homes
This document was updated when Illinois entered Phase 4 (Revitalization): Gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed, restaurants and bars reopen under safety guidance from IDPH, and childcare and schools reopen under guidance from IDPH.
Despite the impact of the current coronavirus crisis and the profound disruption it has caused to our daily lives, please know that this firm remains committed to helping families, relatives and friends say farewell to their loved ones as meaningfully as possible. To that end, this facility has taken the following steps to balance the needs of mourners and guests with the recommended precautions communicated to us by the CDC and the National Funeral Directors Association:
Throughout history, human beings have still managed to conduct the rites, rituals and services necessary to honor and remember their beloved dead during challenging times. Therefore, despite the difficulties we now face, both personally and professionally, never doubt that, together, we will all get through this, for this too shall pass. Thank you for following the above guidelines today and, more importantly, for granting those most affected by this loss with the gift of your personal presence – one of the most important functions of a funeral service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a staff member for assistance.
