Obituary

Benjamin Lee “Ben” Adcock, 66, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1960, the son of Marlin Adcock Jr. and Cleo (Grable) Stock.

Survivors include his son, Brandon Adcock (Samantha Seaney) of Martinsville, Illinois; grandchildren, Brayden Wesley Adcock, Everly Jo Marie Adcock; step-grandchild, Emerald Lofton; mother, Cleo Stock and husband, J. Larry Stock; brothers, Monte Stock of Springfield, Missouri, Robert (Stacey) Cooper of Nampa, Idaho, and Jesse (Shannon) Adcock of Brandon, Mississippi; sisters, Cheryl (Richard) Neikes of Centralia, Illinois, Fran (Mark) Kelly of Brandon, Mississippi, and Dana (Chuck) Norfleet of Wichita, Kansas; special friend Deanna Kay Devor of Centralia, Illinois, and numerous aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Ben was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Adcock Jr.; and brothers, David Cooper, and Jim Adcock.

Ben served his country with pride in the United States Army, where he excelled as an expert in hand grenades, and received an Army Service ribbon. He attributed his grenade skills to pitching and playing catch with his Uncle Jim Grable. Ben enjoyed music and time spent picking out a good song on his guitar. He was a hit at all the family gatherings, everyone looking forward to his famous baked beans and excellent story telling. Ben was always on the look-out for his next good read, especially fantasy and sci-fi. He was a loyal family man who loved nothing more than spending time each of them. Ben was an amazing supportive grandpa who loved to brag on how wonderful his grandchildren were. Ben will be remembered as a true gentleman, was well respected, would generously give out his last dime to someone in need, and as the heart and soul of his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia with military graveside rites by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and VFW Post 2055. Memorials may be made in Ben’s honor directly to the family.
