Rev. Bill L. Wilmoth Sr., 89, of Sandoval passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born on June 14, 1931 the son of William F. and Bessie L. (Cummins) Wilmoth in Abingdon, IL. He married the love of his life Marilyn Holsapple on July 16, 1951 in Sandoval.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Joy Wilmoth; devoted son, Rick Wilmoth Sr. and wife Sandy of Sandoval; 4 precious grandsons, Billy Wilmoth, Ricky Wilmoth Jr., Craig Wilmoth, and Dustin Wilmoth; and 6 cherished great-grandchildren, Koby, Mackenzie, Amie, Kadance, William, and Addie; and caring siblings, Lucille Dalton, Margaret Fair, and David Wilmoth.

Bill was preceded in death by both his parents, Bill and Bessie Wilmoth; siblings, Freda, Shirley, Martha Jane; and sons, Robert Wilmoth, and Bill Wilmoth Jr.

Rev. Wilmoth was called to ministry and served faithfully as an apostolic minister for 50 plus years. Bill also worked as a meat cutter for the Sandoval area. He enjoyed travel, and Bill and his family shared fond memories of vacationing in Mississippi on fishing trips. Bill loved the game of baseball and cheered for his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. He was blessed with an amazingly supportive church family and appreciated the times of fellowship they shared. Bill's treasured moments with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always brought a smile to his face and feelings of great joy.

Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Bill Wilmoth Sr. with arrangements. A celebration of life and graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 with Rev. Don Maas officiating at the Sandoval City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Bill's honor to Sandoval Apostolic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
