Obituary

Billy Charles Wofford, age 58, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at 12:05 A.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Odin HealthCare Center in Odin, Illinois. He was born on August 12, 1958 in Camden, Tennessee, the son of Ray Tubbs and Catherine (Baker) Miller.  He married Debra Elliott on February 23, 1990 in Tennessee and they later divorced.

Billy is survived by his son, Sam Wofford of Centralia, Illinois, daughter, Natasha Wofford-King of Asheville, North Carolina, grandchildren, Brooke and Natalie, sister, Betty Langhauser and husband Michael of Plainfield, Illinois, niece, Holly Williams and husband Eric of Salem, Illinois and great nieces, Trinity Rollinson and Khaeler Williams.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Albert Baker and Annie Baker.

Billy was a former member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219 in Centralia, Illinois and A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois Freedom Riders Chapter. He enjoyed bowling, a game of shuffle board, shooting pool and watching NASCAR.  He loved to go fishing and a good day for Billy was sitting on the bank and going after his catch of the day.  He liked going out for a drive in the country.  He cherished the time he spent with family, especially his great-nieces, Trinity and Khaeler.

Billy was a mechanic for Firestone Tire in Centralia, Illinois, Chuck's Auto and LTD Ford Lincoln in Centralia, Illinois for many years. He graduated with the Centralia Township High School's "Class of 1978."  He lived in the Centralia, Illinois area since 1978.

A Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Billy's family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on funeral home's Facebook page.
