Bradley Robert "Brad" Hartley, age 66, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 8:24 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia with loved ones by his side. He was born on January 26, 1950 in Urbana, Illinois, the son of Jack and Doris "Dottie" (Smith) Hartley. He shared his last 27 years with his dear life partner, Connie Black.
In addition to his mother and Connie, Brad is survived by his three sisters, Chris Schaflein and husband Charlie of Centralia, Janice Copple and husband Tony of Turlock, California and Robin Espinoza and husband Rich of Wheeling, Illinois, sister-in-law, Dawn Gard of Dix, Illinois, Connie's family and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hartley and brother, Kirk Hartley.
Brad served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was an avid reader and guitar enthusiast. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He lived most of his life in Centralia.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for Brad's and Connie's family. Memorial contributions may be made in Brad's memory to the Centralia Regional Library or American Cancer Society and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
