Carol Joyce Orrell, 83, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Fireside House of Centralia.

Carol was born on August 14, 1942, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois, to Adolph and Edna (Grasher). She attended Mater Dei High School in Breese and devoted her life to her family, home, and the simple joys that brought people together.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Edna Grasher; her beloved husband, David "Butch" Orrell; her step-grandson Dustin Orrell; and her stepson, David Scott" Orrell.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Lyle and Cindy Kirgan, Dwain and Kim Orrell, Cindy Orrell, and her stepfamily. She was a proud grandmother to Crystal Kirgan, Travis Orrell, Jake Orrell, Kyle Adams, Katie Adams, and Austin Orrell, Tim Orrell, Randy Orrell and a loving great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Gerald Grasher, Ronald and Barbara Grasher, Gail and Sharon Grasher, Diane Uhls, along with multiple nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members and friends.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved life on the farm, where she enjoyed raising animals and tending to her garden. Her kitchen was often the heart of family gatherings,and her homemade noodles became a cherished tradition that everyone looked forward to enjoying together.

Known for her generous spirit, Carol never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to give of herself left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through simple acts of generosity.

Carol also found comfort and joy in country and gospel music, especially Josh Turner's "Long Black Train," a favorite that reflected her faith and appreciation for heartfelt music.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will take place at Clark Cemetery in Boulder, Illinois, at a later date.
