Claire Elizabeth McDonald , 71, of Sandoval passed away peacefully Monday, July 27, 2020 at her home. She was born on June 28, 1949 the daughter of Roy and Edna (Pratch) Patton in Centralia. She married the love of her life, Robert McDonald on July 31, 1968 in Peoria and he survives in Sandoval.

Along with her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert McDonald, survivors that will cherish precious memories of Claire include her devoted children, sons, Robert McDonald (Laura) of Bullhead City , AZ, and Richard McDonald (Kim) of Junction City, IL; precious grandchildren, Ira McDonald, Aubrey McDonald, Chantel McDonald, Carissa Flannigan (Bill), Brittany McDonald, and Brianna McDonald; 6 cherished great-grandchildren; caring siblings, Randy Patton (Debbie) of MO, Michelle Neff (Jaymin) of Odin, Violet Crawshaw (Fay) of Royleton, IL, and Maunella Shaw of Pana, IL; and a host of many special nieces, and nephews.

Claire was preceded in death by both her parents; and her brother, Frances Patton.

Claire had a compassionate heart and she was able to share this gift with those she cared for as a CNA. She was honored to raise her family and provide for their every need. She was a devoted wife, the chief cook and bottle washer for her grateful family. Claire enjoyed trying out her luck at the casino and just loved the energy of Las Vegas. She liked to take her pole to the water for a little freshwater fishing, while soaking in the beauty of nature. Claire was so, very proud to be a Grandma to her amazing grandchildren, and she always said that each one held a special place in her heart. Claire and Robert, her husband and devoted caregiver, shared a true love and they were always there for each other.
