Clifford "Cliff" Speiser, 86, of Shattuc passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 2, 1933 the son of Henry and Clara (Nolte) Speiser in Boulder, IL. He married the love of his life and best friend Patricia Keltner on December 11,1965 and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include his devoted son, Brian Speiser and wife Gina of Carlyle; precious grandchildren, Haleigh Grapperhaus and husband Garett, Jacob Speiser and wife Allison, Logan Speiser and wife Katie, Lissa Speiser, Tanner Speiser; treasured great-granddaughter, Shae Grapperhaus; sister, Ruth Brink; and brother, Leonard Speiser and wife Norma.

Cliff was preceded in death by both his parents, Henry and Clara Speiser; wife, Pat Speiser; brothers, Ralph Speiser, Harold Speiser, Clinton Speiser; and brother-in-law, Melvin Brink.

Mr. Speiser was honored to serve in the United States Army. He was a lifelong farmer and resident of Shattuc. He raised and watched his son, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter grow. He had a strong work ethic which he passed on to his family. He knew what a blessing it was to have his family so close. Cliff was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, trapping, and fishing.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Rev Elaine Bush officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval with military rites being accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 American Legion Post 446. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the funeral home in Sandoval from 9:00 A.M. till time of funeral services. Memorials may be made in Cliff 's honor to the Huey Ferrin & Boulder Fire department or Carlyle Healthcare Center's Activity Fund.
