Obituary

David Edward Leitner, age 37, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 2022, at his home in Centralia, Illinois.  He was born on November 20, 1984, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Theodore James Leitner and Sandra Ann Bogardus.

David is survived by his loving family, son, Cameron Leitner of Kenosha, Wisconsin; brother, Anthony Leitner and fiancée Leslie Mims of Justice, Illinois; sister, Elice Leitner of Kenosha, Wisconsin; half-sister, Shavon Hale of Arkansas; aunt, Michele Bogardus of Centralia, Illinois; and cousin, Teresa Brown of Kentucky.

David was preceded in death by parents, Theodore Leitner and Sandra Bogardus; and cousins, Monica Martinez and Tracy Brown.

David was of the Catholic faith.  In his younger years, he loved to make model cars and as he grew older, he enjoyed working on cars.  He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and watching movies.   He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his son, Cameron.

David was a cashier at Advance Auto Parts in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Walter Reuther Central High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  He has lived in Centralia, Illinois since October of 2021, and previously lived in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

It was the wishes of Mr. David Edward Leitner's family for him to be cremated.  There will be no public visitation nor services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moran Queen-Boogs Funeral Home to assist the family with David's funeral expenses.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801.
