Obituary

Dennis Wayne Stover, age 72, of Marion, Illinois, passed away at 4:32 P.M. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at his home in Marion, Illinois. He was born October 27, 1942 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Paul W. and Alvera "Vera" (Sprehe) Stover. He married Sharon Conrad in 1965 in Centralia, Illinois and they later divorced.

Mr. Stover was survived by his 3 daughters, Teresa Howard and husband John of Ballwin, Missouri, Cyndy Fischer and husband Bob of Chesterfield, Missouri and Jennifer Campbell and husband Brett of Waterloo, Illinois, 1 son Nicholas Stover of Carbondale, Illinois, 8 grandchildren, Caleb Howard, Matthew Howard, Joshua Howard, Audrey Fischer, Blake Fischer, Ben Fischer, Isaiah Campbell and Jocelyn Campbell and 2 sisters, Sarah Jane Siegler of Belleville, Illinois and Stephanie Joann Sachtleben and husband David of Centralia, Illinois.

Mr. Stover spent all his early years in Centralia, Illinois. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He spent a lot of his youth working with his father, both at Foundation Park and in the field of Civil Engineering and land surveying. After graduating from Centralia Township High School, he earned his Bachelor's and Master Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He also obtained his professional land surveying license. Mr. Stover spent the majority of his life living and working in Marion, Illinois as an Environmental Engineer for the State of Illinois. He spent a good deal of his later life doing various forms of research and genealogy.

Mr. Stover was a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association, American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Chi Epsilon Honor Society.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 8, 2015, at the First Christian (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia, Illinois with Reverend Elaine Bush officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois. Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Stover's memory to the Charity of Donor's Choice and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
