Dorothy May Rounsaville , 92, of Centralia passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Fireside House of Centralia. She was born on January 26, 1928 the daughter of Milburn and Grace (Babcock) Whitfield in Tiskilwa, IL. She married James O. "Hap" Rounsaville on June 22, 1947 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2005.
Survivors that will remember Dorothy's love for her family include her devoted son, James A. Rounsaville and wife Donna of Kell; cherished grandson, Michael "Cru" Rounsaville of Marion; caring sister-in-law, Jennie Whitfield of Peru, IL; and several special nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband of 57 years, James O. "Hap" Rounsaville, Dorothy was preceded in death by both her parents; and her brothers, Richard Whitfield, and Douglas Whitfield.
Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a loyal employee for Littelfuse in Centralia. She was very involved in her family's lives and was always there to lend her support. She enjoyed being a grandmother and watching her grandson, Cru grow into a wonderful young man. Dorothy never missed a good game of Bingo and loved to see her card fill up with the winning numbers. Her life was an amazing example to all she knew and loved.
Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is honored to assist the family of Dorothy Rounsaville. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Central City. Memorials may be made in Dorothy's honor to CCBA Food Bank of Centralia and will be accepted at the funeral home.
