Obituary

Earl Stinson "Earl Boy" Carter, Jr., age 83, of Danville, Illinois, formerly Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 10:15 P.M. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Danville VA Liberty House in Danville, Illinois. He was born on March 19, 1932 in Central City, Illinois, the son of Earl Stinson, Sr. and Oneida May (Ward) Carter.

Mr. Carter is survived by his three nieces, Carolyn Goodiel of Randolph, New York, Marilyn Cash of Waxahachie, Texas and Elaine Johnston and husband Elmer of Greenville, Illinois, 2 great nieces, 6 great nephews and many great-great nieces, great-great nephews and great-great-great nieces.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Quick, and half brother, Everett Parish.

Mr. Carter was a laborer at his father's lumber yard before entering the U.S. Navy.  He was an Electrician's Mate Second Class in the U.S. Navy serving his country during the Korean Conflict from November 1, 1951 until October 3, 1955.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Mark Doane officiating. Military rites accorded by the Centralia V.F.W. Post # 2055 and American Legion Post # 446. Family and Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Friday. There will be no public visitation.
