Eileen Shanafelt , 90, of Odin Passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019. She was born on June 7, 1929 the daughter of Mike and Jennie (Summerville) Day in Odin. She married her best friend, Kenneth Shanafelt on May 11, 1951 in Piggott, AR and he preceded her in death in 2016.

Survivors remain to carry on happy memories of Eileen include her beloved children, Terry Shanafelt (Jana) of Salem, Jerry Shanafelt (Cathy) of Odin, Gary Shanafelt (Sharon) of Odin, Sherry Williams (Bill) of Odin; precious grandchildren, Scott Shanafelt, Steve Shanafelt (Jessi), Jennie Edwards (Ryan), Amy Shanafelt, Jamie Shanafelt, Dawn Shanafelt and fiancé Mitchel Kroeger; cherished great-grandchildren, Carter Shanafelt, Wyatt Edwards, and Landon Johnson; kind sister-in-law, Mary Earl of Texas.

Along with her husband, Kenneth Shanafelt, Mrs. Shanafelt was preceded in death by both her parents, Mike Day and Jennie Schneider; and her son, Larry Shanafelt.

Mrs. Shanafelt cared greatly for children's education and loved to watch how young minds would grow while working as a bookkeeper for Odin School before her retirement. She had a gift for sewing and was always at the ready to mend a garment or make a new creation. Eileen had a passion for shopping and enjoyed spending time watching QVC, searching for her next bargain. Eileen will be remembered as a loving and kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Odin with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Friends are welcome to a visitation time with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home in Odin. Memorials may be made in Eileen's honor to Peaceful Valley Cemetery.
