Obituary

Elinor Caroline Anna Boehne, age 90, of Hoyleton, Illinois, passed away at 8:54 P.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, Illinois. She was born on December 27, 1923 in Hoffman, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Koelling) Michael. She was baptized on January 13, 1924 by Reverend P. Lehman. She was confirmed by Reverend Zucker at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois in April of 1936. She married William "Bill" Boehne on June 6, 1948 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois with Reverend W. C. Ostermeier officiating and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1995. Mrs. Boehne is survived by her two sons, Curtis Boehne and wife Ruth of Hoyleton, Illinois and Craig Boehne and wife Tina of Hoffman, Illinois, one daughter, Donna Bathon and husband Matthew of Nashville, Illinois, eleven grandchildren, Connilee Christie and husband Patrick, Jonathan Boehne and wife Valerie, Tiffany Baikie and husband Marcus, Benjamin Boehne, Justin Bathon and wife Jennifer, Crystal Aandahl and husband Tony, Paul Bathon, Amanda Bathon, Gloria Bathon, Caleb Boehne, and Caroline Boehne, eleven great grandchildren Ben Boehne, Lydia Boehne, Rebekah Boehne, Maryanna Boehne, Matthew Bathon, Elsie Bathon, Evan Bathon, John Henry Aandahl, Clara Baikie, Hannah Baikie and Lyla Christie, one sister Agnes Ruth Walther and husband Paul of Belleville, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Michael of Huey, Illinois and Lorna Grote of Hoyleton, brother-in-law John McCoy of Hoffman, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mrs. Boehne was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Martin Knolhoff, infant daughter Marla Jane Boehne, infant grandson Philip Bathon, infant sister Bernice Michael, sister Esther Lueking, brother Elmer H. "Bud" Michael, brothers-in-law Wilbert Lueking and Herbert Grote and sister-in-law Olga McCoy. Mrs. Boehne was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also served the Sunday School Cradle Roll for many years. She was a very friendly person and always had a smile on her face. Mrs. Boehne enjoyed the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was looking forward to the birth of her twelfth great grandchild in February of 2015. Mrs. Boehne worked as a teller at Farmers State Bank of Hoffman, Illinois for 6 years. She assisted her husband on their grain and dairy farm, and was a retired homemaker. She has lived most of her life in rural Hoyleton, Illinois. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois with Pastor Joshua Theilen officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Hoyleton, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the church and from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Boehne's memory to the Henry Kuring Scholarship Fund, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Meals On Wheels or the Charity of the Donor's Choice and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
