Ellen Aldena Schmitz, age 63 of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 7:55 A.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2105, at her home in Centralia, Illinois.  She was born April 13, 1952 in Centralia, Illinois, daughter of Daniel Robert, Sr. and Betty Rebecca (Myers) Downen.  She married Kevin Mark Schmitz on October 23, 2014 in Centralia, Illinois and he survives her in Centralia, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 2 sons, Robert "Bobby" Tolbert of Centralia, Illinois and Timothy Tolbert of Centralia, Illinois, daughter, Jennifer Smith and husband Mike of Centralia, Illinois, 6 grandchildren, Will Tolbert, Zackery Dorriety, Austin Dorriety, Leon Allen, Jr., Brett Allen and Kendra Allen, 2 great grandchildren, brother, Daniel Robert Downen, Jr. and wife Tami of Marathon, Florida, sister, Gayla Ross and husband Pat of Centralia, Illinois and special friend, MacKenzie Lynn Harvey.

Mrs. Schmitz was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Schmitz was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed watching western movies.  She cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren.  She was a housewife and homemaker.  She lived all of her life in Centralia, Illinois.
