Ellen Rose Hake Rosenkranz, age 84, of Hoyleton, Illinois, passed away after a long illness at
10:27 P.M. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on January 17, 1930 in Hoyleton, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Veva (Wilson) Hake. She married Herman J. Rosenkranz on February 28, 1964 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1995.
Mrs. Rosenkranz is survived by her son Greg Kees of Hoyleton, Illinois, 2 daughters Sharon Kees of Centralia, Illinois and Lisa Meyer of Hoyleton, Illinois, 2 grandchildren Michelle Kees and husband Toby Padfield of Livonia, Michigan and Ryan Kees and wife Jaymee of Hoyleton, Illinois, 4 great grandchildren Andrew Padfield, Aaron Padfield, Benjamin Padfield and Tiegan Kees and special friend Joyce Bauza of Centralia, Illinois.
In addition to her husband of 31 years, Mrs. Rosenkranz was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Rosenkranz was a member of the Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in Hoyleton, Illinois. She enjoyed tending to her garden and her flowers. She loved all of her animals. She cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She retired in 2003 as clerk with the Centralia Motel in Centralia, Illinois after 30 years of service. She has lived her whole life in Hoyleton, Illinois.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will be performed. There will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made in Mrs. Rosenkranz's honor to the Animal Rescue of Southern Illinois and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
