Fred Lueking, age 90, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Centralia Fireside House in Centralia, Illinois. He was born on December 20, 1922 at his family home in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Henry and Mary (Reinkensmeyer) Lueking. He married Barbara Jean Spenner on February 3, 1951 in Hoyleton, Illinois and she survives in Centralia, Illinois. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Lueking is survived by his 2 sons Dennis Lueking of Centralia, Illinois and Bruce Lueking and fiancee' Julie Hintz of Centralia, daughter Pat Williams and husband Steve of Hoffman, Illinois, grandchild Chris Lueking of Centralia, Illinois, step grandchildren Shana Huels and husband Tony of Carlyle, Illinois and Eric Dickenson of Indiana, great granddaughter Britney Lueking of Florissant, Missouri and step great grandchildren Jordan Huels and Blake Huels both of Carlyle, Illinois. Mr. Lueking was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Lueking, sister Irene Cook, daughter-in-law Brenda Lueking and brother-in-law Jewett Cook. Mr. Lueking was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois. He was a member of the Lutheran Layman's League and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed watching all sports especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed tending to his garden and hunting. Mr. Lueking retired from his farm in 2008 at the age of 85 years old. He lived all of his life in Centralia, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, Illinois with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hoffman, Illinois. Friends may call from 8:30 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made in Mr. Lueking's honor to the Charity of Donor's Choice and will be received at the Moran Queen~Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
