Goldie Noreen Hull “Shady”, 69, of Odin passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Deaconess Crossroads Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on August 21, 1956, in Taylorville, the daughter of Melvin and Mildred (Boliard) Hull.

Survivors that will remember Goldie’s deep love for her family include her children, Walter Henson Jr. and Kelsie of Sims, IL, Marvin Henson Sr. of Odin, IL, Angela Renner and Joshua of Centralia, Rosemary Henson of Centralia, Goldie Dutton and Allen of Odin, Jennifer Etherly and Aris of Centralia, and bonus daughter, Tiffany Willams and John Bishop; bonus son Bradly Patton; grandchildren, Trent, Trever, Victoria, Vallary, Henry, Kairi, Jacob, Marvin Jr., Christopher, Maddalynn, Matthew, Tricia, Toby, Troy, Dre’don, Brooklynn, Briana, Day’len, James III, Alexzander, CaraLeena, Skyrum, Holden, AveryLynn, Kayden, Zayden, Haeleigh, Anthany, Aubriana, Alarion, Aris Jr., Arieay, Maddi, Jonathon, Emma, Austin, Amelia; great-grandchildren, Blake, Bella, Brooklynn, Ivy, Kyler, Delilah, Riley, Royal, Aspen, Remmington, Colt, Aylon, and Visha; siblings, Leslie “Butch” Hull, Alice Tyler, Janie Hull, Angie Reber, Bill Hull, Fred Hull, and Rebecca Richards; lifelong best friend, Barb Allen, Becky Warren, Kimberly Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Roger Hull, Marty Erwin, Mary Hull, Gary Hull, and Lorraine Hull.

As a CNA, Goldie truly lived up to her name, having a compassionate heart of gold for others. She was a natural care giver, selflessly placing the needs of all before herself. Goldie was extremely family-oriented, the first to offer help, words of advice, or a comforting hug when her family went through difficult times. She found her “happy place” spending time outdoors, going for long Harley rides. Goldie had a green thumb, growing and nurturing her beautiful roses and peonies, and enjoying the bounty of her amazing vegetable garden. She made sure her hummingbird feeders were always full and liked to watch them dart around under the shade of her favorite mimosa tree. Goldie was struck by wonder with the grace of the butterflies that visited her flowers and was always on the look-out for a peacock or one of its’ feathers as it was her favorite bird. She liked the challenge of hunting for a good deal or a treasure at yard sales, as she was quite the collector. Goldie was generous, kind and good memories of her will bring comfort and hope to her family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor John Klockenga officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to offer condolences and words of support to Goldie’s family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service on Saturday at the funeral home in Centralia.
