Howard William Owens, age 79, of Huey, Illinois, went to be with his Lord at 8:40 A.M. on Friday, January 31, 2020, at his home in Huey, Illinois with his loving family by his side.  He was born on April 6, 1940 in Jefferson County, Illinois, the son of Alva and Laura (Rhynes) Owens.

Howard is survived by his sons, Jimmy D. Owens and wife Shannon of Vienna, Illinois and Jason Owens of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Margie Foxworthy and husband Wallace "Wally" of Summerfield, Illinois; grandchildren, Dawn Lammers and husband Brett, Danielle Tibbs and friend James Cox, Sean King, Chrissy Riddle and husband Eric, Lindsey Glass, Gordy Muckle and Jamie Owens; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lammers, Jonathon "Doc" Lammers, Alexis Lammers, Haillie Tibbs, Issabella Tibbs, JoJo Tibbs and Deaclan Riddle; sister, Rosemary Reichman and husband Jim of Richview, Illinois and many nieces, nephews and loving family.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life, Pauline (Foutch) Paine; brothers, Jim Owens, Thomas Owens and Raymond Owens and sisters Irma Williams and Clara Hixenbaugh Edwards.

Howard attended The Rock Church in Centralia, Illinois and the Life Church in Carlyle, Illinois. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to camp, fish and hunt.  He loved to tend to his garden in his backyard.  He was very competitive and enjoyed sports, especially playing ball and throwing bags and washers.  He also liked to play a good game of cards. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather, who cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Howard retired in 2010 as a cement finisher with Plasterers & Cement Masons Local 143 in Champaign, Illinois after 50 years of service. He lived most of his life in Huey, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Howard William Owens will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Interment will follow in Fouts Christian Church Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois.  Family and friends are asked to meet with Mr. Owens' family from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Owens' honor to the Fouts Christian Church Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois and will be received by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home at 134 South Elm Street in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Mr. Owens' family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home's Facebook page.
