Obituary

Isabelle Brockschmidt , 93, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., formerly of Centralia passed quietly in her sleep on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012. She was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Centralia, daughter of Charley Preston and Mabelle (Kirkland) Starr.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenna Reeves of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; a brother, Alfred Starr of Centralia; two granddaughters, Emily Day (Michael) and Ruth Ann Carlton (Ronnie); and six great-grandchildren, Craig, Chris, Meghan and Sean Day and Nathan and Will Carlton.

Mrs. Brockschmidt graduated from Centralia Township High School in 1937.  She retired from the St. Louis Police Department in 1983, where she had worked as a secretary in the Police Academy and with the Board of Police Commissioners.  She also worked for the Visiting Nurse Association in Centralia for six to eight months before moving to Florida with her daughter and then moving to Virginia for a few years prior to Glenna's retirement.  Then they relocated to Arizona to be close to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She lived with her daughter in Arizona for the last nine years.  She was a treasured and loving grandmother and will be extremely missed by her family.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.  Saturday, March 20, 2021 Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with David Starr officiating, where those in attendance are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 till the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Both Glenna and Isabelle will have their final resting place in their hometown next to Isabelle's mother and father (Glenna's grandparents).

Memorial contribution may be made in lieu of flowers in Mrs. Brockschmidt and/or Mrs. Reeves honor to the Centralia Humane Society.  Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is honored to be of services to the Reeves family.   On-line condolences and memories of Mrs. Brockschmidt and Mrs. Reeves may be shared with the family at www.maczfuneralhomes.com.
