James Robert "J.R." Flanagan, age 39, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 11:10 P.M. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. He was born on December 29, 1974 in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Frank "Tony" and Debra (Foutch) Flanagan.
J.R. is survived by his mother Debra Benjamin and husband Gary of Centralia, Illinois, father Frank "Tony" Flanagan of Centralia, Illinois, special niece MaKyla Flanagan of Centralia, Illinois,
2 grandmothers Ethel Howell and Shirley Foutch and special friend Leo McClain, both of Centralia, Illinois, aunt Evelyn Trainor of Centralia, Illinois, cousin Heather Wrolen and special friend Sarah Applegate of Centralia, Illinois, uncle Steve Foutch and wife Chele of Centralia, Illinois and cousins Steven Foutch, Jr. and special friend Kathleen Janvier of Georgia and Dustin Foutch and wife Aprile of Pinckneyville, Illinois.
J.R. was preceded in death by his sister Lisa M. Flanagan.
J.R. loved reading and rock collecting. He enjoyed watching college basketball including Michigan State. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. J.R. was especially proud of his niece MaKyla and her accomplishments in life. He graduated from Centralia High School with the "Class of 1992." He lived his whole life in Centralia, Illinois.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Sprehe Baseball Field Pavilion located on Country Club Road in Centralia, Illinois.
