Obituary

Jim Rollinson Sr. , 74, of Centralia passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. He was born on October 2, 1945 the son of Berthel Sr. and Nellie (Reeves) Rollinson in Wamac. He married Teresa "Terri" Smith on March 15, 1985 in Salem and she survives in Centralia.

Along with his beloved wife of 35 years, Terri Rollinson, survivors include his children, Robin Heck of Nashville, IL, Misti Donoho of Hoyleton, IL, Scott Rollinson (Erin) of Rockton, IL, Jim Rollinson Jr. (Jennifer) of South Carolina, Matthew Morado (Heather) of Georgia, Kristi Rollinson of Centralia, IL, and Tyler Rollinson of Centralia, IL; many loved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; caring siblings, Bert Rollinson, Wayne Rollinson, Dwight Rollinson, Sandy Beane, Christena Slusher, and Garnetta Moss; mother-in-law, Irma Smith; and several special nieces, and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by both his parents; sisters, Rosie, Treva, Carolyn, Jennie, and Diane; brothers, Harold, Charles, and Lowell; an infant sibling; a great-grandson; and a son-in-law.

Mr. Rollinson served in the United States Army from 1974-1977 with pride and honor. He was a loyal employee at Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia as a tech from 1989-2007. Jim was always ready to share his faith as a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Centralia. He was a former member of VFW Post 2055 in Centralia. Jim loved to cheer on a win for his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. As an admirer of nature and the outdoors, Jim found relaxing moments while fishing at the water's edge. He grew beautiful, and bountiful flower and vegetable gardens. Jim was meticulous about the care of his lawn and found mowing to be a great way to unwind.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is honored to be assisting the family of Jim Rollinson Sr. with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, July 17, 2020 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor RC Merten officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Jim's honor to Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Centralia.
