Jana Rae Harting, age 64, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 5:41 P.M. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at her home in Centralia, Illinois.  She was born on August 29, 1953 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert Edward "Bob" and Marcella "Boots" (West) Harting.

Ms. Harting is survived by her daughter Clarinda Martin and husband Buck of Newnan, Georgia; brothers, Rob Harting, Jr. of Centralia, Illinois and Jack Harting and wife Gayla of Centralia, Illinois; sisters, Susan Brinkmeyer of Centralia, Illinois and Jill Palmer and husband Dave of Centralia, Illinois and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ms. Harting was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Ms. Harting was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois, where she was a greeter at Saturday night services.  In her younger years, she participated in Relay for Life.  She was a people person.  She would visit with friends and residents in the local nursing homes.  She was big with her postings on Facebook.  Ms. Harting was known to give friends a surprise telephone call on their birthdays to sing them "Happy Birthday" and then hang up.  She took great pleasure in baking Christmas cookies and giving them out as presents.  She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

Ms. Harting was co-owner and bookkeeper of Harting Auto Supply Store in Centralia, Illinois.  She graduated with Centralia High School's "Class of 1971".  She has lived most of her life in Centralia, Illinois except for living in Germany for 2 years.

A Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Jana Rae Harting will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Mark Girardin and Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois.  Friends may visit with Ms. Harting's family from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 3, 2018, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ms. Harting's honor to the Centralia Humane Society or Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Please view the online obituary, send condolences or share memories with Ms. Harting's family at www.moranfuneralhome.net or on the funeral home's Facebook page.
