Jean Rae Alexander , 93, of Centralia passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at her home. She was born on August 26, 1926 the daughter of James and Marian (Henderson) Stoafer in Harvey, IL. She married Norm Alexander and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her beloved son, Bruce Fleeman of Centralia; treasured grandchildren, Diane Greenlee and husband John of Iuka, Tracy Fleeman of Centralia, Michael Fleeman and wife Tara of Centralia, and Rebecca Alcorn of Centralia; precious great-grandchildren, Cy Fogliasso and wife Carissa, Lindsey Miller and husband Marcus, Paige Fleeman, Tyler Fleeman, Cory Fleeman, Macy Alcorn, and Caden Fleeman; 1 darling great-great-granddaughter; caring siblings, brother, William Stoafer and special friend, Edna Nalefski of Breese, sisters, Patricia Pachura and special friend Mick Michels of Jamul, CA, and Judith Taylor and husband Jim of Chesterfield; and father of her son, Billy Jo Fleeman.

Along with her husband, Norm Alexander, Jean was preceded in death by her father, James Stoafer; mother, Marian Hudson and husband Herbert; brothers, Raymond Eugene Stoafer, Keith Stoafer; and daughter-in-law, Francis Fleeman.

Jean was of the Christian faith. She was a devoted employee of Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia for over 30 years until her well-deserved retirement. Jean was famous for cooking up a batch of delicious fish that she and her mother, Marian would catch while enjoying nature, and a good day of fishing. She was a natural nurturer, raising her sisters along with her son, Bruce. Jean belonged to TOPS, and loved to put together a challenging puzzle. Known as Grandma Jean to her cherished grandchildren, she instilled a love of family in each of their hearts. Jean will be deeply missed by all she knew and loved.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Jean Alexander with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 10, 2020 with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. A visitation time will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home where those in attendance will be limited to 50 people at one time and masks should be worn. Memorials may be made in Jean's honor to the family's wishes and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
