Jeanne G. Pyle, age 79, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:52 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Saint Mary Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on April 25, 1934 in Pinckneyville, Illinois, the daughter of James W. and Florence E. (Jones) Gibson. She married Elmer G. Pyle on August 8, 1951 in DuQuoin, Illinois and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1999. They moved to Centralia, Illinois in August of 1964.
Mrs. Pyle is survived by her daughter Cheryle A. Ferguson of Clinton, Arkansas, son Jeffrey K. Pyle of Centralia, Illinois and daughter Jennifer L. Betts and husband Doug Betts of Largo, Florida and granddaughter Kaitlyn Betts of Largo, Florida.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pyle was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Ruth Junge of Saint Louis, Missouri and Ora Mae Clawson of Springfield, Missouri, and son-in-law Floyd Ferguson of Clinton, Arkansas.
Mrs. Pyle was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Centralia, Illinois where she was a member of the Ladies Circle, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She was primarily a housewife and homemaker, but her two great loves were her family and her yard and gardens, spending many happy hours with both.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Centralia, Illinois with the Reverend Dr. Edwin Evans officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. As per her wishes, Mrs. Pyle will be cremated and cremation rites are entrusted to the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be received at the funeral home. Online condolences of sympathy may be left for her family at moranfuneralhome@att.net.
