Obituary

Jeannine "Toots" Bundy , 90, of Odin, passed peacefully at Centralia Manor, November 29, 2019. She was born on November 17, 1929 the daughter of Horace and Goldie (Gibbs) Jackson. She married Darrell Bundy in 1948 and was the mother of their three sons.

Survivors remaining that hold treasured memories include her son, Jeff Bundy and Linda Kujawa of O'Fallon, IL; daughter-in-law, Tanya Bundy of Centralia; grandson Ryan Bundy and wife Becca of Edwardsville, IL; great-granddaughters, Mabrey & Morgan of Edwardsville, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer Landes of Carterville, IL; great-granddaughters, Gabi & Emma of Carterville, IL; and close friends, Barbra Steele, & Edith Holsapple both of Odin, IL.

Mrs. Bundy was preceded in death by both her parents, Horace and Goldie Jackson; her sons, Mike Bundy of Patoka, IL, & Sam Bundy of Centralia, IL; brothers, Newton, Dempsey, Jack, & Bill Jackson; and sister, Agnes McHaney.

"Toots" was a member of the Odin Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Odin. She was a stay at home mom until her boys were raised. She later worked for, and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. "Toots" was a sports fan and enjoyed watching her favorite teams, Illini basketball, and St. Louis Cardinals play, and cheer them on to victory from the comfort of her living room. She was a lady that appreciated nature, growing beautiful flower gardens and watching the deer that would visit her backyard. "Toots" had an eye for sparkling jewelry and loved to dress up and wear her favorite pieces on a tranquil night out at "The Muny". The love she shared with her loved ones will be cherished always.

A celebration of life service will be held privately with Brother Claude Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley in Odin. Memorial contributions may be made in Jeannine's honor to the Sam Bundy Memorial Scholarship for a student planning to attend Kaskaskia College.
