John Robert Steele, age 87, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 3:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, Illinois. He was born on December 4, 1929, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of the late Claude and Ruth (Edwards) Steele.

Mr. Steele is survived by his son, John Dean Steele and wife Brandi of Payson, Illinois and grandchildren, Pamela Dale Steele, John Dean Steele, Jr. and Hannah Ryanne Steele, all of Payson, Illinois.

Mr. Steele was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Edna Faye Tucker.

Mr. Steele attended the Church of Christ in Centralia, Illinois.  He enjoyed fishing.  He cherished the time he spent with his friends.

Mr. Steele retired from the furnace factory in Centralia, Illinois after many of years of service.  He lived his whole life in Centralia, Illinois.
