Obituary

Larry Franklin Dugan , 73, of Centralia passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at his home. He was born on January 31, 1949, the son of James F. and Cora K. (Jones) Dugan in Centralia.

Survivors include his brothers David Durbin and significant other Kathy Scarbrough of Junction City, and Martin Alan Durbin of Centralia; sisters Diana Bauer and husband Michael of Shobonier, and Darlene Scott and husband Jeffrey of Centralia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dugan was preceded in death by his parents James Dugan and Cora Durbin; maternal grandparents Earl and Lena Jones; and his brother Dana Durbin

Mr. Dugan served his country with honor and pride for 9 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict, where he was a trouble shooter. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, Second Amendment Foundation, and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Larry was also a member of the Salem Bowling League and Lions Club. He worked as a First Class Mechanic for Burlington Northern Railroad. He later shared his building skills as a carpenter. He knew his way around a computer and was the person to call on if you had any questions. He even made computer games for grateful customers to enjoy. Larry was creative and enjoyed creating with his wood working. He will be remembered as a man that was highly prepared for any situation, a true survivalist.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval where military honors will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 American Legion Post 446. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Larry's honor to the Second Amendment Foundation 501C3.
