Lillie M. Lewis, age 87, of Centralia, Illinois, formerly of Newark, New York, passed away at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Fireside House in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on December 17, 1926 in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of Lee Gregory and Lillie (Russell)Veitch. Mrs. Lewis is survived by 3 sons Donnie Lewis of New York, Danny Lewis and wife Debbie of Lyons, New York and Billy Lewis of California, 2 daughters Gail Lewis of Portland, Oregon and Tammy Alexander and special friend John Felty of Central City, Illinois, 15 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren, 2 brothers of Texas and 2 sisters of Texas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her son Joe Lewis, daughter Barbara Quick, 2 grandchildren and 1 sister. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed crocheting and making dolls. She also loved to bake pies and cookies. In accordance with her wishes, cremation was performed. Inurnment will take place in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City, Illinois at a later date. Local arrangements are in the care of Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
