Obituary

Marcella "Boots" Harting, age 87, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, Illinois.  she was born on December 4, 1925 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of George B. and Clara (Ford) West.  She married Robert Edward "Bob" Harting on May 17, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2006.

Mrs. Harting is survived by 2 sons Robert E. "Rob" Harting, Jr. of Centralia, Illinois and Jack Harting and wife Gayla of Centralia, Illinois, 3 daughters Susan Brinkmeyer of Centralia, Illinois, Jana Harting of Centralia, Illinois and Jill Palmer and husband Dave of Centralia, Illinois, 9 grandchildren Cara McDermott and husband Eddie, Clint Harting, Alicia Ottati and husband Leigh, Molly Brinkmeyer, Clarinda Harting, Steven Palmer and wife Melissa, Matthew Palmer, Chelsea Walsh and Baylee Walsh, 5 great grandchildren Alyssa McDermott, Kyle McDermott, Noah McDermott, Walker McCandrew and Savannah Grace Palmer, and 2 sisters Eileen Kussin of Centralia, Illinois and Claire Tinsley and husband Leroy H. of Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Harting was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Edward West, George West and Jack West and infant sister Mary Lou West.

Mrs. Harting was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois.  She was also a member of the Centralia V.F.W. Post #2055 Ladies Auxiliary.  Mrs. Harting enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She has lived her whole life in Centralia, Illinois.

Mrs. Harting was the owner and former bookkeeper at the Harting Auto Supply Store in Centralia, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois with Reverend Mark Girardin and Reverend Perry Schefelker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, Illinois.  Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Harting's honor to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School, Christ Our Rock High School or Kaskaskia Workshop and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at moranfuneralhome@att.net .
