Obituary

Marilyn Ann Mullins, age 64, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at 2:57 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on July 31, 1949 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Paul M. and Bernice U. (Hines) Myers. She married Robert L. Mullins on May 4, 1973 in Salem, Illinois and he survives in Salem, Illinois. In addition to her husband of 41 years, Mrs. Mullins is survived by her sons Captain Gregory Mullins of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Robert B. Mullins and wife Jaime of Pensacola, Florida, father Paul M. Myers of Centralia, Illinois, grandson Matthew Mullins of Fayetteville, North Carolina, brother Bruce Myers and wife Janie of Centralia, Illinois, sister Paula Clark and husband Steve of Greenwood, Indiana and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her mother Bernice U. Myers. Mrs. Mullins was baptized into the Catholic Faith. She graduated from Kaskaskia College with a Associates Degree in Nursing in 1990. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She graduated from the Centralia Township High School with the "Class of 1967". While in high school, she was a cheerleader and was the 1967 May Fete Queen. Mrs. Mullins was a registered nurse and partner of the Advantage Home Health Agency in Olney, Illinois from 1994 until 2012. She was previously employed for 4 years as a registered nurse on the 3 East floor of St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. Mrs. Mullins was a medical assistant in Dr. Charles K. Fischer's OB/GYN office in Centralia, Illinois from 1970 until 1975. After she graduated from high school, she was a long distance operator for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company in Centralia, Illinois from 1967 until 1970. She has lived most of her life in the Salem, Illinois area. There will be no public visitation nor services. Private family inurnment services will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois at a later date. Cremation rites accorded by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
