Mary L. Adams , 96, of Decatur, formerly of Centralia, passed away July 10, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was born the daughter of Charles A. and Dorothy D. (Smith) Feiock on January 12, 1924 in Neosha, MO. She married the love of her life Kewin Adams on January 23, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in November 3, 2003. Those left to carry on her legacy is her son Gerald Adams and wife, Glenda (Fair) of Decatur and Lisa Phillips of Coconut Creek, Florida; two beloved grandchildren Randy Adams, wife Kelly (Southwell) Wilmington, IL, and Rod Adams, wife Gretchen (Robinson) of Blue Mound, IL; four treasured great-grandchildren Shelby and husband Chris Perez, Noah Adams, Alexia and Collin Adams; and one precious great-great-grandchild, Lily Perez.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by both of her parents Charles and Dorothy Feiock; sister Minnie Marvel and brother Harry Feiock.
Mrs. Adams was a devote Christian woman who dedicated her time to teaching Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Centralia. She believed in mentoring to the next generation of followers, so she passionately served on the Board of Christian Education and Missions. She faithful served the City of Centralia for 20 plus years as a city clerk, and previously Montgomery Ward. Mary was grateful for the 11 years to remain at home with the help of her special friends.
Friends and Family are invited to visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Mary will be buried next to her husband at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends visiting are encouraged to wear a mask and social distance with limitation on the amount of people entering the building.
