Mary L. O’Neill, 80, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, at her home. She was born on June 26, 1946, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Francis and Edith (Richardson) O’Neill.

Survivors who appreciated having Mary in their lives include her niece, Susan Halstead and Frank; several more nieces and nephews; and her good friends, Sharon Reed, Jane Laffoon, and Nicole Heck.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Eileen Rada, and Kathleen Bell; brothers, Vernon O’Neill, and Francis “Bud” O’Neill; and good friend, Vic Steele.

Mary was loyal, kind and took time to appreciate all the little pleasures in life. She was a true, loyal friend who was always there to offer encouragement, provide a listening ear, and make fun memories with. Mary liked to challenge her brain by working word puzzle books, not giving up until she completed them. She could often be found in her happy place outside in her yard, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. Mary loved to tend to her flower gardens, putting in many hours to keep her garden beds free from weeds and enhancing the splendor of the flowers’ blooms. Mary was a sweet, sweet soul who meant the world to those who knew her well and she will be deeply missed.
