Naioma Offutt , 87, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at NHC (Caris Healthcare & Hospice) in Maryland Heights, MO.
Survivors who will hold dear memories of Naioma include her beloved family, her children, Gehrkey R. Bowers of TN, Felton J. Offutt (Deana) of AZ, and Dara "Penny" Offutt (William) of MO; son-in-law, Larry Green of New Baden; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Along with her husband of 28 years, Robert Offutt, Naioma was preceded in death by her daughter, Robie Nadine Green. Her parents, Clifford and Mazzie Piphus; brothers, Vertice Piphus, Artuay Piphus, Freddie Piphus, and Laurence Piphus; her sisters, Willa Mae Bellows, Ollie Sue Jones, Hattie Piphus, Mattie Bradford, and Aline Vaughn.
Naioma was a faithful member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia where she served as a Pastor's Aide, and on the mothers board. She was a hard worker and loyal employee of Littlefuse and later Altadonna's IGA in Centralia, cooking up amazing meals in the delicatessen. Naioma had a compassionate, caring heart, checking on the members of her community and providing care when needed. Naioma was a true lady of faith, had a kind word of encouragement for everyone, and loved her family fiercely. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Centralia with Rev. Ronald Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
