Nellie Mae Hake, age 93, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:40 P.M. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Centralia Fireside House in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on November 22, 1920 in Marion County, Foster Township, Illinois, the daughter of Henderson H. and Lula (Eagen) Jones. She married Amos E. Hake on October 19, 1941 in the Methodist Church parsonage in Warrenton, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2004.
Mrs. Hake is survived by her son, Larry R. Hake and wife Beverly of St. Charles, Missouri, daughter, Judy Ball and husband Edward of Loveland, Ohio, two grandsons John Hake and wife Kay of St. Peter, Missouri and Edward Ball and wife Chrissy of Rancho Cucamonga, California, two granddaughters Jennifer Wolfe and husband Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio and Cindy Campbell and husband Jason of St. Charles, Missouri, five great grandchildren Chase Campbell, Carissa Campbell, Jade Hake, Jack Wolfe and Eddie Ball and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Mrs. Hake was preceded in death by her parents
Mrs. Hake has been a lifelong Methodist Church member and was a member of the Dix United Methodist Church in Dix, Illinois. She enjoyed remembering the birthdays and anniversaries of all her family and friends. She loved writing letters and working crossword puzzles until she lost her sight.
Mrs. Hake attended the Brown Business College in Centralia, Illinois and then was employed in the accounting department at the Goodale Puffer Wholesale Grocer in Centralia, Illinois. While living in St. Louis, Missouri, she worked in the credit department at the Manhattan Distributing Company. She has lived in Centralia, Illinois since 2013 and previously lived in Dix, Illinois for 8 years.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Mark Doane and Pastor Michael Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Evangelical U.C.C. Cemetery in Hoyleton, Illinois. Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hake's memory to the American Heart Association and will be received by Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
