Obituary

Orville Edwin Wacker, age 82, of Richview, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at his home in Richview, Illinois with his family by his side. He was born on June 9, 1934 in Richview, Illinois, the son of Julius and Laura R. (Hake) Wacker. He married Ruth McWorthy in August of 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri and she preceded him in death on January 4, 2002.

Mr. Wacker is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Hanke of Richview, Illinois and Rita Hilscher and husband Bill of Richview, Illinois, 4 grandchildren, Terra Hanke, Tina Hanke, Jacob Hanke and Wesley George, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister, Sylvia Herzog of Champaign, Illinois and special friend of 14 years, Mary Schroeder of Richview, Illinois.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mr. Wacker was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Brian Hanke.

Mr. Wacker was a member of the Irvington United Methodist Church in Irvington, Illinois. He was a 50 plus year member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219 in Centralia, Illinois. He was a member of the Centralia Elks BPOE Lodge 493 in Centralia, Illinois. Mr. Wacker was a member of the former Masonic Lodge in Ashley, Illinois. He was a member of the Centralia Shrine Club in Centralia, Jefferson County Shrine Club in Mt. Vernon and the Ainad Shriners Temple in East St. Louis, Illinois.  Earlier in life, he was an avid bowler, who belonged to various leagues in Centralia, Illinois. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Mr. Wacker was a life-long farmer who owned and operated the Wacker Hog & Grain in Richview, Illinois. He was one of the original four owners of the Greenview Golf Course. He helped design the golf course and was known to have stepped off and design the back 9 holes. He lived all of his life in Richview, Illinois.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Anita Munden officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be accorded by the Centralia Masonic Lodge 201 A.F. & A.M. at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, followed by a Shriners Walk-Through at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wacker's honor to the American Heart Association or Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
