Pat
Grove
June 5, 1951 – February 4, 2026
Patricia Ann "Pat" Grove , 74, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on June 5, 1951, in Highland, the daughter of Maurice and Adele (Vieth) Gregor. She married the love of her life, Harry Grove on May 6, 2000, in Macoupin and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2013.
Survivors that will remember Pat's warm smile include her son, Jarrod (Maranda) Kilmurray; stepchildren, Michael and Melissa; grandchildren, Brayden Kilmurray, Rory Kilmurray, and Bailey Kilmurray; brothers, Richard (Jan) Gregor; sisters, Linda (Bob) Reeder, Sandy (Dan) Lowe, and Susan (George) Checinski; caregivers who were more like family, Veronica (Elias) Raley, and Chastaty White and nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Adele Gregor; brother, Ken Gregor niece, Kimmy Checinski; and sister-in-law, Marcia Gregor.
Pat was a lovely lady who appreciated the simple things of life. She worked in various businesses where her attention to detail was a benefit to her secretarial duties. Pat was a master at solving puzzles and her soft spot for a good pen had her collecting them from everywhere. She loved the game of baseball and was probably the St. Louis Cardinals biggest fan. Pat was grateful to find the love of her sweet, Harry, and they shared a wonderful partnership, later in life. Harry's love language was definitely gift giving, which ignited Pat's passion for collecting. She treasured her Tigger, cardinal and hummingbird trinkets that reminded her of Harry and his generous heart. She also enjoyed bird watching, dressing for success, wearing beautiful jewelry, and getting her nails done. Pat was never far from her fur-baby, her dog Bella. Even though Bella was a chocolate lab, she considered herself a lap dog and Pat was more than happy to make room for cuddle time. Pat's heart was full anytime her grandbabies were with her and she would do anything when they call on their "Grandma Pat".
