Phyllis R. Brewster , 84, of Odin passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo. She was born on January 4, 1936 the daughter of Lee and Mary (Cain) Hudspeth in Patoka. She married Lloyd Gambill Jr. and 4 children were born of this union, they later divorced. She married Wayne Brewster and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her devoted children, Vicki Barnes and Al Hinderliter of Patoka, Debra Smith of Centralia, Steve "Slug" and Carla Gambill of Odin, and Leslie Ferrell of TX; 7 cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and Jason Rhodes, Derek and Sherry Gambill, Jered Gambill, Kade Gambill, Chris Barnes, George and Tammy Smith, and Casey Eller; 9 precious great-grandchildren; and 2 treasured great-great grandchildren.
Along with her husband Wayne Brewster, Phyllis was preceded in death by both her parents; 5 siblings; and son-in-law, George Smith.
Phyllis was a homemaker and was proud to care for her family and her home. She was dedicated to each of her family members needs and was always at the ready to help in any way.
Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is privileged to be assisting the family of Phyllis Brewster with arrangements. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Pratt Cemetery in Patoka. Memorials may be made to Pratt Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home's office address 234 S Elm St. Centralia, Il 62801.
